Addison's Battle Wound

Ok so it has finally happened: our 1st ER visit where we knew we would need stitches or a cast or something more serious than antibiotics. Poor Addison spent 5 minutes at her dear friend's birthday party at a park when she fell. Addy's little tooth went right through her bottom lip - we knew it was going to need more than TLC so we headed to the ER right away. Addison was very brave as she needed just topical treatment and then have the stitches put in...WOW that was a hard one for dear old Mom....I can't tell you how difficult it is to tell your child this is the best thing for them even though you know it hurts them in the short term. My heart broke a little at that point when I had to hold her down especially since she could see everything the DR. was doing. Thank goodness for true friends too (drumroll please.....Mary Kay) as who else would come and sit at your house in their PJ's until a very late hour so both Brent and I could be there to take Addy home. All in all though, we are doing great and are glad it is all behind us. We get the stitches out at the end of this week. We have had ice cream and slushies so I think are spirits are improving rapidly!!! :)
