Quartz Mountain Family Vacation

Alright, here are some photos from our Memorial Day getaway. We decided to check out some of the areas within Oklahoma as Mom did not want to be in the car for very long this time around! It was great and by the look of the mountains you would have never guessed where we were. The weather was really nice so we went hiking, swimming and just plain exploring. The girls get so excited when we are packing to go somewhere it is adorable - they each bring their little suitcases loaded to the brim of stuff: books, pencils, crayons, paper, underwear, socks, jeans, shorts, sweatshirts, t-shirts, PJ's and all their animal friends. They are certainly girls even at this young of an age! Anywho, it was a nice little vacation!

What do Worms Like to Eat?

The girls had their last theater class on Friday. We got to watch their performance of "What Do Worms Like to Eat?" It was super cute. Kaitlyn was a deer and she liked to eat bark. Addison was a beetle and she liked to eat leaves and then had to run away when the birds came down off their perch cause they ate beetles too. Brent was able to attend as it landed on one of the Fridays that he was off.
This holiday weekend has been relaxing with tons of QUALITY TIME! (everyone knows that my love language!) We are getting packed though for our little nature adventure...we have the chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers - what else is there? LUMUKU

Shannon Miller watch out!!!

Well the girls had their first gymnastics Olympics. It was so adorable - in order to move up to their new classes next week they both needed to pass a series of exercises all by themselves. YEAH - they did it!!! Kaitlyn will now be entering the big gym with the older kids and doing more routines on the balance beam, floor, and uneven bars. Whereas, Addison will be going in a class without her Mom or Dad. We are really proud of both the girls!

We went explorin'

So finally the girls and I got our act in gear and headed out to explore some of the area around here. We went north this particular time to a little town called Guthrie. It was cute, although I have to admit there was not much there....thank goodness the girls love antique shopping as much as I do. We spent the day wandering around old stores and then of course had to stop for some ice-cream, I mean come on that is always necessary in any good exploring adventure!

Today the girls have art class and then WE MUST GO GROCERY SHOPPING. I have to tell you though that is one of those things that I try to wait until the last possible minute to do, oopsies! At least this time I have the meals planned for the rest of the month so at least that makes it a little easier.

The weather here has been fabulous 70's and 80's with a beautiful breeze that really allows you to be outside all day long AND WE HAVE BEEN!!!!

Alright, well just wanted to say hi to all and let you know we are thinking about everyone especially GG. Some special prayers are headed her way. We love you tons!

Motion for Mother's Day to be Once a Month???!

Happy Mother's Day 2009!!!

What a fabulous day it was here for the Rocklahomas, or should I say for Mommy! I was woken up with my favorite breakfast in all the world: waffles with strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream. So yummy!

Next it was on to sidewalk chalking and playing in the backyard. Daddy showed all of us girls how to climb one of the trees in our yard...so needless to say, 15 minutes later Kaitlyn and Addison figured out that they could climb the lowest branch and then swing down like monkeys. Sorry too nervous that the girls were going to fall to get some photos of that - but they were having a blast!

Daddy and the girls also made me a very special garden stone with their handprints in it. I can not wait to put it in our garden!

And then, which is probably the best part of all: the girls and I fell asleep on the couch! How perfect - cuddling with my sweeties! There was nothing else that I would have wanted to do today! AWESOME - thanks Brent, Kaitlyn and Addison for making Mother's Day so incredibly special and relaxing! LOVE YOU TONS!

Still Plugging Away

Nothing new here in Oklahoma! Just wanted to touch base with you all and tell you we are doing well - getting excited for the weekend as it is a 3-dayer for us! YEAH!!! The weather has been lousy: rain, rain, and more rain! However, it has made everything really pretty and green. I think we are going to plant some flowers this weekend, although I am nervous about that as I tend to have a black thumb. We shall see! Looking forward to dinner tonight as I am making enchiladas...loving Mexican food these days. Probably ever since we moved to Texas and then here! Well, I gotta run as I told the girls I would be right back upstairs to play "Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Boo" - they say the words and point their wands and I turn me into different animals that chase them all around...currently I am a crocodile!!
