Kate is GREAT

Goodness, I know I say it every year but I truly can not believe how quickly time flies. I mean right now we are celebrating Kaitlyn's 6th birthday (which is huge) but I know we are going to blink and we will be celebrating her 10th birthday. You know?

We celebrated her birthday last Saturday as Brent was here to partake in the fun...we went to the zoo (bright and early to avoid the heat and crowds) and then went to a Lake near us for a bike ride and evening dinner. It was fun, all Kate's idea and I have to say we really enjoyed her day. Now today she had orientation at her new school so she and I were able to just go to that while Addy and Coby stayed with a sitter. Then Kate and I went and painted our toes...I mean you have to do a little something on the actual birthday! Kate picked the color for both of us and we are now sporting bright sparkling blue nail polish...I actually love it although I never would have picked it myself!

We are off for a bike ride here in a little bit right after the yucky rain clouds pass us and then spaghetti and homemade meatballs for dinner (they were requested).

Every day on her birthday Kate wants to hear the story of how she was born and look through the scrapbooks...we love it too. This time though it just feels different - maybe it is because of school starting again or because Brent and I both can see that she is just a little girl now - no baby, no toddler, just a little girl who no longer cares for Dora or Sesame Street. Man, I remember watching nothing but sesame street, elmo, the wiggles, etc - even going to all the concerts!

Okay enough nostalgia...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOTSABELLA....WE LOVE YOU TONS!
