We have had such a nice last few weeks...to our great pleasure the Lowry family made a little jaunt up to the OKC to visit us, which was absolutely wonderful! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.....and seriously who brings home cooked meals with them when they travel - do they know the secret of our happiness or what? Then after the awesome Colts win in Indianapolis, we had a pop-in visitor - Aunt Tamara, which again made the time just seem to fly by! It was really sweet to see her and the girls making homemade jewelry at the kitchen table and playing endless board games throughout the day. Of course they were fascinated by all her high heels - I would say Jacoby was fascinated with Aunt Tamara too (not the high heels though)!
Now we are just waiting for a HUGE snowstorm to hit us here. It has already started with the freezing rain. The schools have been closed and so have most of the offices in the downtown area, which means Brent is coming home! (Can I get a little YEAH for that!!!)
Life with three little munchkins is motoring along nicely. Jacoby is such a good baby I can't even believe it. However, I have not even come close to mastering the grocery store or really any outings on my own besides a walk or a park. All in good time! To give you an example - we have a neighbor behind our house that is an old retired gentleman - sweet but sometimes a little much. Anywho, he and his wife decided to make a surprise visit to our house yesterday afternoon with a little something for Jacoby and his sisters. Such a wonderful thought, but these days a little advanced notice is a MUST!!! So I open the door at the same time the girls are throwing their dirty laundry over the banister (now mind you I had asked them to do this so I did not have to collect it all upstairs). Addison is only half-way dressed because her clothes were dirty as she explained to everyone. Jacoby had just finished nursing and I did not have much of a chance to burp him - not to mention that getting out of my comfy pants and Brent's old T-shirt would have left a better impression! So I invite them in the entry area (dirty laundry and all) and the interaction goes as follows: 1) Jacoby spits up on my shirt and a little bit on the floor 2)the neighbors hand the treats over to the girls and myself 3)Jacoby starts crying - I start leaking 4) Kaitlyn and Addison are begging at my legs to eat the candy that they brought over 5) the neighbor is trying to come in further to the house to see the changes that have been made 6)I now want to cry as he rounds the corner to the family room and yes there are the piles of clean laundry on the floor that I have yet to fold and put away, the vacuum cleaner is out, there are tons of toys from the girls, and a couple bowls from an after school snack left on the coffee table! At that point, they both decided they needed to leave and asked for my phone number so next time they could call first before popping over. :) Oh life is just a bowl full of cherries sometimes isn't it???? Betcha we will be the talk of their bridge group this week!!! What can you do though...they should have called! :)
Hope all your weeks are going well - Love you, Miss you, Kisses to all of you!
